For the manufacture of precision sensor emitter pairs we recommend the use of miniature 'Pill pack' sensors and emitters.

Apart from their small size allowing high density arrays, they offer high operating temperatures and low optical sqew.

The Pill Packs are placed in clean drilled holes in FR4 pcb and contact made from each side of the pcb. Spacing between elements can be as little as 2mm and boards as thin as 1mm can be used.

An example of the use of these 'Pill Packs' is the SDA20, as shown in the photo, a single channel pairs.
